BAYO.S has delivered and installed a total of 199 ground screws for a new boardwalk and a hexagonal viewing platform at the iconic Sømærke in Blokhus, Denmark. Both fixed screws of 1.5 meters and extendable screws of 3 – 5 meters have been used – all installed in sandy subsoil.
The installation was carried out in two stages. First, the 95 ground screws for the boardwalk were installed, and subsequently work followed with the platform’s 104 load-bearing screws. The sequential approach ensured an efficient work process and good coordination with the local contractor Keld & Johs) who is leading the project.
The solution with ground screws was chosen to minimize the impact on the surrounding coastal landscape and to ensure a solid and long-lasting anchorage – even in challenging, sandy soil conditions. With BAYO.S ground screws, the project has achieved both high load-bearing capacity and gentle installation in the scenic and visited area by the North Sea.
